Netball Centre Upgrade, Burnie, TAS

Burnie City Council and the Burnie Netball Association jointly funded the recent Burnie Netball Court upgrade. The refurbishment consisted of widening the court playing areas and new acrylic surfacing on the pavement to improve player safety.

Project Design Brief

The designers required all pavement surfaces on and around the netball courts to be flat for player and spectator safety. To facilitate efficient flow of water to the drain outlets, the system needed to incorporate a built-in slope. The drainage grates needed to be wheelchair and bicycle compliant.

ACO's Solution

  • KlassikDrain K100 sloped system with Galvanised Slotted grates

Benefits

  • The K100 sloped system provides 0.5% built-in fall per meter length of channel to ensure sufficient run-off of water towards the outlet points
  • The Slotted Galvanised grate meets wheelchair accessibility to AS 1428.2 and is bicycle tyre penetration resistant to AS 3996
  • The QuickLok boltless locking system enables efficient placement and removal of grates, reducing costly maintenance time.
