Sydney FC Centre of Excellence, Sydney, NSW
Also known as Sky Park, the Sydney FC Centre of Excellence is the training and administrative headquarters of the professional Australian football club, Sydney FC. The facility is located within the sporting precinct of Macquarie University and is used by the club’s mens and womens A-League and Academy teams.
Project Design Brief
To manage the stormwater runoff around the buildings’ perimeters, designers needed a variety of surface drains. Linear drains were selected to follow the required subtle transitions between the different pavement surfaces. Staff, players and officials would regularly access the facilities, so all grates would need to meet the regulatory requirements regarding slip resistance, wheelchair accessibility and heel resistance.
